ATHEROMAAS is a well-documented Maastricht Pathology Cohort of artery plaque tissue from symptomatic endarterectomy patients. 

It provides an unparalleled platform for deep (spatial) phenotyping, multi-omics integration, and clinical correlation—unlocking novel insights into cardiovascular disease, particularly in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) and chronic kidney disease (CKD).
